About Nathan
I have been teaching and tutoring science and math for more than 10 years. I majored in Science and Society at Brown University, focusing on the history and philosophy of science and taking courses in physics, chemistry, engineering, and biology. After graduating, I was accepted into the Boston Teacher Residency, where I earned a Masters of Education from UMass Boston. I taught physics and chemistry in Boston and Wellesley, and I have tutored students from many different schools and districts.

Outside of education, I am a husband and father, a musician, and a photographer.

My goal as a tutor is to help my students better understand the ideas that they are learning in class. I am kind, patient, and clear. I love questions, and I want you to feel comfortable asking any question, or feeling however you feel about our work, including curious, confused, or excited.
I am particularly good at explaining complex ideas, and I can help you use simple ideas to build complex understanding! As we ask questions, talk through ideas, and solve problems together, I can help you clarify concepts, fix misunderstandings, learn strategies, ask yourself questions, and learn how to become a better student.
